Exactly the answer to the question,

Who is this FANTASTIC DIRECTION, good for.

I guess the ATA pays him to attend shoots to see how to make things run better.

This is a fantastic opportunity for both he and the ATA.

Got to look at it this way.

He's the one getting the $$$, so who are the dumb ones ?

All a part of business, and he has proven he is no dummy.

I hope he sold a bunch of guns!

I also would think if it was that big of an issue, Fishburn wouldn't have rented him a vendor space.
So who is taking advantage of who?

Maybe he was there to see how big the SCTP crowd was. How many would actually show up at the CC.

I'll bet the sign behind his pretty much summed it up.

It is no surprise that someone like "Gipson" would/could find a way to get the easy money .....

But, it always amazing to see the dumb-ass people who blindly support greed and corruption .....

Well "Win101", What do you think could happen if "Fishburn" refused to sell "him a spot to vend his wares" ?????

Any half-assed attorney, with nothing better to do, would take that "discrimination case" ..... Much like if the "ATA" refused my "membership fee", that they have not done, for my posting such strong "bashing" against them .....

There is a real world out there "Win101", it just requires leaving fantasy cyber-land long enough to "see" it .....

Why is it greed when Gipson wanted to set up shop at the Cardinal during. the SCTP Nationals?
Why is it not greed when the space was rented to him?

Obviously, Fishburn nor the Cardinal Center had a problem with it. Or they wouldn't have rented to him.
They do have the right to rent or not to rent to any business they want.

Why bitch about it on here, take the issue up with Fishburn and the Cardinal.

Gee "Win101" ..... The "ATA Form 990" has "Lynn A Gipson" working "40 hours per week for the "ATA" .....

How in the Hell could you call it anything but greed, if you are drawing pay for a "job", and spend that time doing something else ?????

Maybe he took vacation to run the shop.

By this post "That's our "Open" squad at top of page", on a different thread, one could conclude you were there .....

IF ..... you were there, you should know if your hero was there or not ..... IF you did not go, you may not want to make statements about others like this, "Or nobody had the balls to go in and see for themselves if he was there" ..... because I am sure you wouldn't want anyone to wonder why a "Gipson" lapdog didn't have "the balls" to go support him in person .....

I don't have a dog in this fight and don't know who this Gipson person is or what he did to incur the wrath of some here, but, I agree with Win101. Nobody has been able to establish that this Gipson person was even there. Isn't it possible that someone could be working the booth for him/her? Or, did someone, in fact, see Gibson in person?

Lynn (the Talking Head ) Gipson is the Executive Director hired by the ATA to work for the betterment of the organization and the members as well as promote trap shooting ... He has a business at the WSRC in Sparta, Ill , it appears nothing is being done to better the organization for the members so he has collected 1/2 million dollars for 3 years to do basically nothing but suck up to the EC, BOD and milk the ATA cash cow while talking about all of the millions (20/30) the grand brings into the region ... If you do not see something wrong with this picture , you are part of the problem ... The Good Ol' Boys club is alive and well ... Think "Conflict of Interest" besides having the inside on the contracts for cleaning up the lead which is worth a lot of money ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

It is not only "possible", but more than likely "probable" for several reasons .....

"He" is supposed to be spending "40 hours per week" working for the "ATA", doing whatever he does for them.

And even some of the most loyal "ATA members" are about to riot over the "ATA points pins" saga ..... then add in all the status quo items of handicap, class, and "rule-book" problems, and it may not be a "pleasant" place to be for someone .....

That is easy to answer ..... just look at things like "membership" levels, "Grand" attendance, "Rule-Book" issues, the All American Points Pin saga, and more under "his leadership" .....

Who "he" is, and what "he" is paid, would be viewed differently is there were improvements for the "average" shooters, and not just for the never was/ never will Be's Idols who live on "All American Points" .....

How stupid is it when things continue in a "death spiral", and "he" not only keeps "his job", but "he" gets large pay increases ?????

As the original poster (my picture) I thought it was interesting that he decided to join 'em. It doesn't really matter who he sent does it? Any vendor on the midway at the CC will tell you there is more money to be made at the CC for a regular shoot than the grand.

I heard it's not his company at all. It's his wife's business that he has absolutely nothing to do with. Maybe you all should get your facts straight. She actually has the store at the WSRC and goes to quite a few shoots to sell things. She has great prices too!

I don't see any mention of Mr. Gipson having a wife. Near the bottom of the page it is mentioned that Lynn Gipson is the Principal of Gipson. This is in the "undisputed facts section."

I have more information for the Flat Earth Society if needed.

    Wpt,
In defense of John Doe, in my research I have also seen that Mr. Gipson has not been actively involved in the day to day management of Lynn Gipson LLC, d/b/a Gipson Quality Guns since 2012 concurrently with his appointment to ATA/ED. I apologize that I cannot provide you with that specific reference at this time. Additionally, however their have been several posts over the past few years on other websites regarding purchases from "Gipson Guns" and all have alluded to "Karen" as the person/manager that they have dealt with. Circumstantial, sure, doesn't prove a thing but outside of unfounded allegations and straw man arguments I have yet to see any post in this thread to refute it. The post by jhunts taken from the Illinois Sec of State database primarily identifies the LLC ownership (managers/members). However, without seeing the LLC operating agreement(s) one can cannot definitively infer whether the business is Member-managed or Manager-managed with regard to the rights, duties and authority of the manager/members. In fairness to jhunts most family run LLC's are member-managed whereby the LLC operates similar to a partnership with each manager having equal, rights duties etc over the daily business operations. There are other issues involved pertaining to LLC's daily management and operation(s) however I don't want to get too far off into the weeds. Wpt, I believe that you are fully aware that Steve Ricketts was always and continues to be the point man for management and field operations of the Gipson-Ricketts LLC. Also, I'm not sure what you mean by "forwarding information on bids". To the best of my knowledge bids for various "mining" projects do not have to be submitted through the ATA. There have been three major projects recently completed in South Florida and in each instance bids were submitted to the individual owner/county. Gibson-Ricketts was not involved in any of the projects.
I realize that SFL is a bit of a stretch for Gipson-Rickets, but I believe the bidding process is the same nationwide. If you are referring to a potential contract at the WRSC, could he have an inside tract? Possibly, but if that occurred I'm sure it would be highly scrutinized by many as to any possible collusion with the IDNR.

    Merlo,
The one question I would have, is what entity and for what purpose is "Gipson Guns, LLC". Is this a separate entity from Lynn Gibson, LLC or have the Articles of Organization been amended for a name change (which I did not find), Assuming there is a viable answer, based on the limited information provided I'm going to speculate that someone has filed a complaint or is proposing legal action pursuant to the assignment of a certain concession lease from DKG, Trading Inc to Gipson Guns, LLC. Obviously said "lease" refers to the concession site at the WRSC. Considering Mr. Gipson is employed by the ATA through the Executive Committee, and that the matter may go to a question of conflict of interest between his business and his employment, I see no issues with Mr. Farris representing Mr. Gipson. But again the information provided is very limited. Regarding your reference as to the absence to mention Mr. Gipson's wife, I see that to be of little if any relevance. Pending clarification of the subject Gipson entity, if it is in fact a separate entity it is very possible Mrs. Gipson has no ownership interest. Should it be the same entity as Lynn Gipson LLC, Mr. Gipson is and always has been the listed Registered Agent and would be the sole principal designated for purposes of contact and notice of legal action(s). Merlo, after 20+ years of being a senior investigator with the Dept of Treasury and having to deal with many high profile law firms, I have learned a lesson many times, unfortunately the hard way. If your going to comment an attorney's statement(s) be accurate in your statement. Please note that Mr. Farris stated in part, "Mr. Lynn Gipson, principal of Gipson". That has a far different meaning than your statement, in bold for emphasis, Lynn Gipson is the principal of Gipson

I have previously avoided this thread because of the usual knuckle dragging neanderthals who come out their closets to post little more than gibberish and then to belittle and denigrate anyone who dares to disagree with their views. Why the administrators of this site allow such BS to go on is beyond me. I personally have never met Mr. Gipson nor with the exception of maybe a quick walk-thru at the Grand have I ever been in his shop. I don't necessarily agree with some of his decisions and/or recommendations but I certainly am not going to lay at his feet all that ails the ATA nor how the actions and or inactions of others over the past 25-30 years have brought the ATA to its current state. Is Mr Gipson a good soldier, sure he is. Does that mean he's doing a bad job? Apparently, not in the eyes of the EC or the Board of Directors. Is he overpaid? I don't know. His salary, incentive and benefit income is fully disclosed annually upon filing of the Form 990 which is available online along with the consolidated financial statements and independent audit report for all to see. Based of F990/Schedule O his salary is commensurate with guidestar and other comparative databases. In addition every director/delegate is provided a copy of the financials and I'm certain if requested could obtain a copy of the F990. Personally I wouldn't do his job for twice his salary.

I apologize for the lengthy thread. I'm sure there are some who will disagree and contest what I have posted. No problem all are entitled to their own opinion. I also have no issues with a further respectable debate. However for those who have no substantive comments or solely want to attack and disparage. Save your bait and your energy. I have neither the inclination nor the time to respond.
