Last year it was mentioned to the IDNR in the minutes that the trap houses at the WSRC are sinking and or leaning.

Has it been addressed by the state of Illinois? Here is a line from the recent minutes.

1291 5. The sinking trap houses need to be repaired.

What do you think? Is the IDNR maintaining the facility? I report. You decide.

If they, the IDNR, keeps going the way they are Wikipedia is going to have to add another name.

When you Google "Money Pit" both Oak Island and the WSRC are going to come up.

    But wait! That's not all.

Last year the forum mentioned the needed road repairs. And look what appeared in the minutes. Do you remember Rauner vetoing the road repair bill?

1284 1. The Executive Committee hopes that IDNR has a plan for repaving Cardinal Road,
1285 however, the ATA is aware of the existing budget restrictions.

The forum pointed out there are other maintenance issues. And look what appeared in the minutes.

1287 3. The trap houses need to be painted

1286 2. The bank numbers need to be painted since it is very hard now to read them.

And then when all the bitching about the IDNR failures was finished our director says:

1288 4. President Morris and Executive Director Gipson expressed their appreciation to
1289 Ms. Brackman for the excellent job done by IDNR in maintaining the grounds at
1290 the World Shooting and Recreational Complex.

Now you know the rest of the story. I report. You decide.

Can Anyone who lives close by the place supply some pictures of these ?

I know the rule book has standards on width, etc. of trap houses BUT does it state they have to be level ?

    MINIMUM Standards y'all know ~~~~ ????

Want to bet that somehow the ATA will end up paying the bill for these repairs mentioned above ?

If by chance the problems continue to escalate at the WSRC and deterioration becomes a problem , I would guess being as the Martins were so heavily involved with being a signature sponsor of the grand and all Tucson Trap and Skeet would be the most logical guess (Choice) of where the grand could move to even if only on a temporary basis, should the need arise ... In reality, I do not think most people feel that would be a bad move until other plans could be arranged ... The WSRC has proven itself to be a loser, where as the Tucson club has grown into its own over the years and become a Premiere Shooting Establishment ... I personally have not been to the grand in Sparta, Illinois but have been told by many friends who have that the entire trap line has never been used for any event , so with some modification Tucson could just get it done ... This is strictly a guess on my part and not to be taken as any part of a rumor in any way ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

    warpspeed,

The trap shooters in AZ. shoot all summer. Is it hot in Sparta? We have a dry heat, very little humidity. Roger C.

I understand from a few friends who make or have made the trek to Sparta,Ill that is can get quite warm (we consider 100 warm, not hot) and sticky (humidity, anything over 15%) and that they have witnessed people passing out on the line ... The posting above was just an idea coming out of my fingers as I type and nothing more than that ... Last I heard they still had air conditioning down at Tucson and plenty of cold refreshments for the shooters pleasure ... WPT ... (YAC) ...
