What happens to the U.S. Open now?

Not that it was a big shoot but didn't the IDNR run it?

Will it be moved?

 

Was the match merely an event to give the appearance of increased use at the range ?

 

No it was just a shoot like any club could host.

 

In the beginning it was a shakedown for the first Grand, then it took a nosedive.

 

When the ATA announced the U.S.Open prior to the first Grand at Sparta in 2006 many shooters went to the shoot just to see what they might encounter at the Grand, in other words to scout out the area for food, entertainment and lodgings. Many were dismayed with the lack of any of the entities they were looking for, some did not return for the Grand. As I recall the first Grand at Sparta was very hot but things moved along very well. The peach ice cream was very well received by all even my dog enjoyed some.

 

It is now called US Closed

 

Now I am more curious as to whether the U.S. Open is planned by the IDNR.

 

The ATA and IDNR sites do not show a U.S. Open scheduled.

 

US open has been moved to Brittney- at least that's the rumor I heard from a reliable source.

The folks at the WSRC obviously have not been told they are hosting the grand again this year so they can put it on the scheduled events ... I called there and asked if the grand was going to be there this year and the lady just laughed and said if it is, she don't know anything about it and has not been told anything ... I told her they were having a meeting to figure out what they were going to do and to make the plans ... She asked if there was anything else she could help me with and said to have a nice day (clik) ... WPT ... (YAC) ...
