Don't know. Couldn't find any tag that showed 3 or 5. I do know it's heavy. This is new never worn and has been in storage about 3 years. covid over a year plus selling house and moving to warmer weather and having House bilt. If you know of a way to find out weight let me know. Thx

The heavy sweaters are 6-ply, and lighter ones are 3-ply. I have both and you're right, no markings on weight.
