Wondering if there are any trapshooters on here that are using the Hunter HD Gold shooting glasses? if so, how do you like them and do they really give the contrast that they claim you will get?

Those looked very interesting.....until I learned that they are photochromic.
I don't want my glasses getting dark on me; I need all the light that's available.

Fifteen years ago, there were some new, gold lenses (I forget the name) that were being touted by a well-known trap forum personality and seller of shooting glasses. I looked into them but could not find a local or semi-local optometrist who would get them for me.
Haven't heard anything about them in over a decade, so I have to assume they weren't all that magical. Are gold-colored lenses a cyclical fad?

No, it's Hunter Gold and they are made in I believe Alabama. Everything I've seen in the adds ( other then the photochromic) sounds good except I don't know of anyone using them. Maybe that should tell me something. Not cheap either frames and gold lens $400.00

That sounds familiar. They might have been called Autumn Gold or Harvest Gold?

If they are located in Alabama then probably so. All I know is
Don't know for sure, all I know is on YouTube they are called Hunters HD Gold and are based in Alabama. At the Grand they had a tent down by the food tents. I looked through a pair and they did seem to sharpen things.

I got a pair of Autumn Gold lenses from Morgan’s 5 years ago and they were discontinued soon after (don’t know why). These Hunter’s Gold look similar but cost is a lot more than I paid. Asked for a lens only quote and it was $385… ouch.
I really liked the transition, the only issue was using side blinders made them get darker even in low-light conditions. Don’t know if these will do the same.
