Time for a New Organization or Two?

Is it time for a new organization to be formed?

The big shooting states with the shooters are out voted and feel under-represented. Great example is making it easier for the small states with almost no shooters to get their shooters to the 27 without competing. Winner of a 5 person shoot gets 1/2 yard.

Mississippi's delegate and 22 shooters out trump OH or PA.

The big states in the east have to travel further for the flagship shoot.

The ATA seems to not care much about the money they spend.....$2.1 million dollar pole building built by the ATA/HOF and owned by Illinois.

Targets made easier mostly at the request from delegates west of Indiana.

Shooters in OH, PA and surrounding states register targets to go to their grand.....not Sparta.

Who has the power? I am hearing rumors.

Just wondering............is it groundhog day all over again?

Leonidas would be in charge of public affairs of course. Are you up to it Leonidas?

No, BD would be in charge of public relations. jhunts will write the rulebook as suggested by joe and Longshot. The first few volumes should be available on line pronto and even without it you can start shooting light shells at super-long distances and maybe getting a new gun to do it with.

Everyone votes on everything, of course; this is the internet age, after all. Since they have not gotten even a motion for any of their demands at ATA meetings for 20 years - for ever, really - I'd estimate their political and organizational skills will lead to a registered shoot in a a few years at most, as soon as all the clubs in Ohio install Promatic traps. Start paying your membership now, though; how else are they going to pay those giant purses? Finally, everyone is going to get rich trapshooting!

In the meantime, you might want to shoot some ATA just to keep your hand in.

Sir your second paragraph wreaks of hatred and acknowledgement of a potential personal threat. I am sure you understand that every time someone decides not to shoot this weekend it is bad for the sport. And every time we keep a shooter on the line whether it is your org or another it is good for the sport.

Every time a shot is fired it is good for a vendor and good for the shooting industry. But in your cloud of egocentrism you fail to see that or just don't care.

I get your attack on Ohio. Could you please show us a graph showing how often your state has a shoot with over 400 people from your state in one event. Follow up with a graph that shows how many shooters were members in the ATA before your leadership in '96 took hold and where we are now.

Just a graph no excuses please.

How are your cronies doing at the HOF? You were a leader there also? No need for a graph there.

Comparing your proven leadership to some of those above seems a bit silly now. But then again we haven't seen your graphs yet.

I think most of us today are already shooting ATA just to keep our hands in. What would be another incentive? All American points? We are caught between a rock and a hard spot. At this time, bigger shoots have to include the ATA to get the numbers needed. Let people shoot without registering the targets with the ATA like the Big 50's and see how many pay the ATA fee. Kind of like being caught in a revolving door!

Might be a good idea, but then it could cause more problems.

I am guessing the graph making machine is broken.

"Everything in the universe has purpose but the invisible intelligence that flows through the minds of those currently disposed to running the state of Illinois and the ATA does indeed remain invisible." Anonymous. And as Roger once said, "if your talking with me, you should be taking notes."
Great thoughts, sort of reminds me of sitting at the beer tent in Vandalia.

The State of Illinois is being sued by some players of the Illinois State Lottery because the State is with holding payments until there is a budget in place ... I lived in Illinois (in a past life) and never had any idea that the lottery and States budget were tied together, makes sense in one respect but not in another because I'm sure those who play the Lottery were not aware that pay outs of winnings could or would be in jeopardy ... WPT ... (YAC) ... (DSP ) ...
