I have received several emails / messages on this…..

If a shooter is “forever enshrined” in a trapshooting Hall of Fame, should or could that person be removed from that status?

This is soon to become a bigger issue I hear.

    I report. You decide.

As the person who introduced the person who is now being crucified I feel I need to let my feelings be known. I only knew Randy as a trapshooter and over all those years at a shoot I saw Randy only to act as a gentleman wether I was squadded with him, in a shootoff against him,or just being around him.

At the beginning when the first Sports HOF's were founded I'm sure much time and thought was put into making the wording for the inductees both absolute and against future challenges. Thus the wording Forever Enshrined was chosen, and there was no provision made for removing anyone after induction. No if's, ands, buts, or maybe's Induction was and is meant to be permanent.( Forever until the end of time, or forevermore) and not something to be trifled with or changed.

As I understand it Randy had problems over the years and after his fathers passing and other reasons his mental condition deteriorated and his life came to a tragic end This was a very bad situation, but it did nothing to change his trapshooting accomplishments and it should not be any reason for him to be removed from our HOF. Remember what Forever means (until the end of time).

In discussing this with some of the HOF committee members I was very disappointed and saddened by their response. This may not be the exact words, but how I understood their comments. One stated that his term was to soon end and he didn't know a lot about this and he just went along with what some of the others were in favor of. I stated to another committee member that as far as I knew no one had ever been removed from any sports HOF after being inducted. They replied saying O J Simpson has been removed from the Football HOF. I said no he has not and they still disagreed, so I showed him printed matter off of Google stating that O J had not been removed and that he never would be removed from the Football HOF. Another member stated that Pete Rose had been removed from the Baseball HOF. I stated that Pete had never been inducted and his comeback was if he had been in they would have removed him.

If this removal is allowed to stand it is opening up a very smelly can of worms. Remove one now and who will be next, and you can bet that soon there will be more. Let it stand as it is meant to be. If someone is inducted they should never be removed for any reason. If it is done once we have left our HOF on a very slippery slope and it will happen again. If we use correct understanding of our English Language and some common sense this needs to be put back as it was intended to be. Going forward if this travesty is not righted the officials that have signed these HOF certificates have put their names on a piece of fraud and disgraced the Corporate Seal.

Please every one vote on this topic and please attend the Friday open meeting at the Banquet hall at I believe 9 pm during the State Shoot. I hope many shooters will attend and that we can get our HOF back to what it should be.

one trip to richmonds old statues tells you the state of our nation. what was holy is no longer holy.
what was American in nature is being replaced with (other) things from (other) countries in an attempt to rewrite history.

As a Canadian coming to your shoots I shot wIth Randy W. lots of times. He was as nice and frendly for all of his shooting years. I think all of his troubles came after his trap shooting years.

Maybe they should take a look at another hall of fame in Canton, Ohio.

O J Simpson is enshrined there, and everyone knows what he did.

As the sports HOF's came into exitance they were established so future generations could learn from and enjoy the history of the sport they represented with the centerpiece being (Forever Enshrined). The reason that Forever Enshrined was used was to insure that No person would be removed after induction. If this wording is violated could what we have even be called a HOF?

    Dave….
This will be an interesting discussion not only at the Friday meeting but also at the HOF ceremonies. Some folks should be nervous with the HOF.

If we have another recently deceased Ohio Trapshooting Hall of Fame member that was convicted of a crime against a police department in 2017, does that HOF member get removed too? Do we give some HOF members the “Hunter Biden” pass while giving others the boot? I will be interested to hear this explanation tonight.

If the crime involved the attempt to kill/ injure police officers, then he/she should absolutely be removed.

A whataboutism comparing a person who committed a financial crime to someone who attempted to kill police officers. Now that's rich.

Please read really slow the word (FOREVER) several times and then check out a dictionary or google it and read real slow what the meaning and definition of FOREVER is and just maybe you will be able to understand?

The wording for HOF's was very carefully and intentionally set up to protect history and not allow the uninformed and cancel culture to change history to what ever their whims might be at any particular moment.
