A great crowd yesterday at Williams County Gun Club in NW Ohio. 54 shooters in the calcutta, with several others in the Lewis only. Top gun of the day was Larry Moore from Kentucky with a 97. I had the pleasure of shooting next to Larry, and he was all over them. I only remember 1 break that was not in the center. Great mechanics Larry!
2nd place- Chris Sizemore and Jeff Friedhoff, 95
3rd place- Skylar Clark and Ross Fleming, 94
4th place- James Bush and Tony Richards, 93

A very generous crowd participated in our youth raffles, with a net of $620. This money goes immediately to the MidwayUSA Foundation to be matched 2-1 by Larry and Brenda Potterfield, for a net deposit of $1860! Thanks everyone for coming and shooting with us, next calcutta is Feb. 24. Annual ATA and meat shoot schedule for Williams County is at www.wccl.net.

We need to thank Duck Dog Don Cogan for providing the auctioneer services yesterday, and Mike Early and Roger Brenner for taking bids. Mary Jane Heisler, Tom Kirk, Roger Brenner, Greg Johnson and Brad Nester handled the registration and payouts, and Pam C., Keisha, Pam V., Teresa, Phyllis, and Carol for the kitchen and raffle. Kitchen proceeds all go back to added money for trapshoots later in the year. Tim Castor worked a mean grill, and Big Ed Lingvai provided snow removal. Score keepers and trap loaders did a great job, as well as several club members pitching in. This volunteer effort is what makes these calcuttas a great time for everyone!

Joe left out one important Thank You, the one to himself. Joe always works his butt off for the events at Williams County and we shooters appreciate it. Thanks Joe! Something pretty neat to see is the next generation at Williams County stepping up and volunteering. I remember when Brad Nester and Katie Taylor first started shooting. Now Brad is working the computer desk like a seasoned pro. Katie seemed to be working at every trap I went to! Great group of younger volunteers at this club. Oh, and a special thank you from this fat man to whoever made that Amerreto cheesecake!!!
