The Trapshooting Hall Of Fame Building was constructed by Poettker Construction Co
The Construction Manager was Cory Pritchard, Building was 8600sq ft Estimated Construction Cost to the Sparta Building Dept was $1.5 million which equals $180.72289 per square foot.by my figures

Poettker Construction Co is located in Breeze / Highland Illinois.
I got this information from the Sparta City Building Department
from the Building Permit that was issued.

I will post some comparasion building expenses

I called a Company called Morton Buildings which was managed by a former Trapshooter now deceased John Winget.
They gave me an Estimate not to exceed $300.000 with A/C 8600 Sq ft size 72x120 built similar to the pictures of the THOF built at Sparta. This would be an insulated Commercial style building.

This was on an Insulated Concrete Floor.

I thought that price at Sparta was damn high for a Pole Building.

Did the ATA get taken down the FLEECING WALKWAY OR WAS THERE ANOTHER CONSPIRACY IN EFFECT?

I SERIOUSLY BELIEVE SOMETHING UNDERHANDED WAS GOING ON AND POCKETS WERE LINED W/OUR ATA MEMBERS GOLD.

I don't know that anyone would be surprised at this, and to make it worse they need an additional $380,000 to complete it according the Bradford ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

Gary, was the Morton building designed the same or did you just go by sq. ft.?

The reason I ask isn't the HOF designed for museum quality air control system to protect the ATA artifacts? Is your Morton building quote up to the same standards such as security system, air control system and any other expense that is included in the first quote?

I am not really up on todays prices when it come to construction, I can tell you that you can build a hell of a building for a lot less than 2.1 million dollars that would include security, ac/heating (climate controlled) even it being a state project ... There is a bunch of over run figured into that for additional grease and extra nails, that for sure ... If the State was having the building constructed you can bet there would be bids, if the ATA was involved the bids should of been posted for the members to see whats going on with their money ... Sooner or later it will all come to a head and be made public one way or the other, if there is any wrong doing prosecution to the fullest extent of the law would (should) be in order ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

    WPT,

Nobody really cares to look into a sport or a club, so it's very important that people raise concerns to proper channels.

The truth won't come out on its own. Longshot's work is thus very important.

Good work, Doctor. The contractor needs to be examined thoroughly. Who owns it? Were any kickbacks made? How can the ATA Board prove it discharged its fiduciary duty when The Doctor saved 80% with a quick phone call?

Just keep in mind that the Trapshooting Hall of Fame is NOT part of the ATA !

The only involvement the ATA had in this (supposedly) was the donation of $250,000.00 of OUR ATA money.

I do have to admit though that the ATA logo is once again appearing on the inside of the THOF logo.

More information Jim Bradford quoted 9700 sf HOF Bldg, Building Permit was for 8600 SF bid est was $1.2 million. Bradford's est listed in the Southern Illioisn was $ 1.9 Million, HOF Guns are on loan to a Fairfax Va, Firearms Museum, for 3 years. the other items are in a Lorraine, Ohio Climate Controlled Storage. Mr. Bradford did you or any HOF trustees look at the Bldg Proposal and Bid? My highest so far competitive bid is $523,000 including restrooms/lighting. Were any competitive bids taken for the Construction? These Ohio Companies included construction workers lodging out of state to build a similar construction building, w/insulated concrete floor, Restrooms w/sewer lines to outside of Bldg to be connected by others to sewer lines provided by WRSC complex builders. Now I see why the ATA let those committee members go, they were uncovering and discovering cost over-runs Etc. With possible lack of Competetive bids on the HOF Building. Plus numerous other inconsistencies. They were taking in the considerations of the members expenses and their integrity in their job.

The HOF, or any private entity or person is not required to take a low bid. There is no way someone can price out a job based on a picture of the exterior. The building in one thing, then there is all the interior work that costs the real money. Try looking at the difference in labor costs in Ohio, even with per diem and hotel rooms, and the labor costs in Illinois. Then look into if the IDNR requires all labor to be unionized.

380k and they don't have the money. Duff send them a few Benjamins. Could have had a building, land , deed, right of way. They turned that down. Like a poster said earlier. Needed an anchor baby.

How many 501c3 charities do you know that built a $2.1 million dollar building on land they didn't own and in an unstable hostile political environment. And then let me know how many 501c3 charities you know that would donate to that cause.

The big kicker Duff is- did your delegate know the building was going to be owned by the state of Illinois?
