You wonder why the taxpayers of Illinois haven't put the shovel to the place. What if you came across a statement that said there are over 17,500 shooters there for the week?

    You cant make this up.

The Grand American is scheduled for August 7-17 at the 1,600-acre WSRC, home to the event since 2006.
More than 17,500 shooters are expected to participate in 24 competitive events during the 11 days of ‘The Grand’ in southwestern Illinois.

How can we move forward this this crap out there?

I don't think people pay much attention to news articles that are from 4 years ago.

Four years ago the ATA was putting this stuff out? Not now? We are on the up and up now right Columbus? Two years ago the ATA published numbers to us that doubled the number of participants. And then the Pull2012. Drink some more Kool Aid Columbus.

17,500? There aren't that many at the grand? If I was a taxpayer and this was the only article I saw about it I might be persuaded to think this was worth investing in. Fake news didn't start this year.

The ATA claimed to have 15,000 shooters on sight and another 15,000 in the local and regional area last year or the year before (Thinking 2015 or 2016) ... There are 1,000 camping spots so those who had them had lots of company ... The thing is headed in a Fanazztaztic direction generating millions of dollars but they can only get (drum roll please ) 2003 shooters to participate in the biggest and bestest event of all time, the new and improved mini grand ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

Once the fake news is entered online it stays there for a long time. Interesting to find out if anyone got taxpayer monies due to these stories.

Don't get too excited...this happens all the time. The Cowboy Philosopher, Will Rogers, observed years ago when he said:.

The truth is they combined several years to come up with the number, makes it look good to the Illinois tax payers who don't know any better ... The State of Illinois is not supporting the WSRC any longer, they do not have any money for funding any of the needed projects so that burden will fall on someone's shoulders other than the State itself ... If they ever got 5,000 shooters let alone 17,500 they would be so lost they would never come back again, probably have to extend it another 3 weeks to get it done ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

If you take an "average" of 730-ish "shooters", shooting in "24 events" ...... you may be able to come up with a over 17,500 "participation" number ..... say that to an unknowing "reporter" fast enough, and ?????

The "IDNR" should take 17,500 x 24 and demand payment on the 420,000 number ..... then you would see some scramble to "correct" the "information" .....
