There is no shooter dead or alive who is more deserving of having a Life Sized Statue of them than "Leo Harrison III", he is the Biggest winner ... There should be a Statue of him at the entrance ... Tell Bradford to stay out of the pictures and get a hair cut ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

    FYI :

    Qualifications
Hall of Fame nominees are selected from two groups: competitors—shooters who have made impressive records in shooting on an ATA-wide basis, and contributors—those who have contributed to the growth of trapshooting or to the betterment of the sport, also on an ATA-wide basis. Obviously, a shooter might have accomplishments in both of these areas.

    Specific requirements for competitors are:

    • Shooters with impressive records on an ATA-wide basis who are still living and have been in active competition for a period of 20 years or more..
    • Shooters who are deceased and have honored themselves in trapshooting on an ATA-wide basis for a significant number of years.
    Specific requirements for contributors are:

    • Living or deceased individuals who distinguished themselves on an ATA-wide basis by their contributions to the sport of trapshooting. This category can take on and is intended to have a broad meaning. Contributors are recognized for doing great service to our sport—such as inventions to aid our sport, promoting and publicizing our sport, and/or serving trapshooters on state, zone and ATA-wide bases.
All living currently-selected inductees must appear personally at the Trapshooting Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony during the Grand American unless physically incapable at the time of induction.

Submissions for the current year must be received at the Hall of Fame office before June 15 to be considered by the committee at the Grand American in August. Selections for the next year's induction are announced in the issue of TRAP & FIELD following the Grand American.

The ATA was founded in 1900 as the "American Trapshooting Association", and later changed to the "Amateur Trapshooting Association" in 1923.

Why then are the qualifications stating "ON AN ATA BASIS" when the organization was not founded until 1923 ?

I was challenged one time about this as I was including another Shotgun Sports trap venue, along with the ATA accomplishments to support my nominee into the THOF. I was told by the challenger to not include anything that was not ATA related, so I did not.

I believe that the THOF officials would have taken this into account, but a co-signer told me do not include it for fear they would not like it.

Just wondering how Bogardus, and the other early shooters were inducted if they didn't shoot after 1923 ? Any suggestions ?

I was told by my co-signer: "Read the Rules", they are written very plainly.

    And Brad,

Since you were not allowed the pleasure of keeping history alive with the saving of the Cupola, wouldn't it have been nice it they could have at least preserved it at the Sparta facility ?

Looking at that film at the 3:00 minute mark made me ill.

    History down the drain ~~~~~

The ATA HOF is claimed to not be a part of the ATA but the HOF does what they told to do, that you can bet on ... ($250,000 donation by the ATA, member money, yet NO Members were asked before it got done ) ... Trap machines bought with relocation fees collected on every entry for quite a long time with the understanding it was to be used to PURCHASE a new home grounds, so no body questioned it ... Neil Winston got his DIRTY little hands in that deal, but who knows to what extent ..? Trap and Field is also owned by the ATA so anything you read in it is sugar coated so the members have no real idea of what, who, when unless the ATA wants them to be advised of ... The separation between the ED, EC and many of the BOD is exactly what they want so the membership can be kept in the dark on many matters ... The Founding Fathers of the ATA are flipping over and rolling in their graves seeing what has happened to a Once Great Organization, for the shooters, by the shooters ... Greed is in control now and until that SWAMP is TOTALLY Drained there is no way to cleanse it ...By design the Members will never get enough men with the Integrity it will take to get it done on the EC or BOD all at the same time ... WPT ... (YAC) ...
