Anyone got some details? I'm hearing under staffed, and a target surcharge of $2/100? As well as unkempt grounds? I love shooting there. Details of what is happening?

I have been here since Monday night. I have no idea your comment about being under staffed. From a shooters view point, I think they have done a great job. The folks doing the score keeping and loading the traps are doing a great job. Some of the best targets I have ever shot here. Not sure what anyone would expect anything better. The target surcharge is $1.00 per hundred. I am guessing that is to cover the price increase put forth by White Flyer. Not sure how you would expect the grounds in any better shape. Very hard to cut the grass in standing water. It will take Rick weeks to get all the ruts closed up that have been cut by inconsiderate shooters. I have been attending this shoot for well over 20 years. As far as I am concerned, it is the best GLG I have ever attended. Hats off to the MTA directors. Come join the fun.

"unkempt grounds?" Good lord, is this all you have to worry about? You aren't there and warn us that you have been hearing the grass may not have been cut to your preferred measurements? Did you ever consider that you might be too sensitive, too spoiled, to enjoy trapshooting? There's surely a shoot you can go to, one of many this weekend all over the country. Go enjoy one, why don't you?

Don't bother coming back and telling us how offended you were by crabgrass in the walkways©; Sparta has a copyright on that complaint on this site.

I've always had a wonderful time there; I'm not surprised that they are holding up their usual very high standards. It's a great shooting grounds run by dedicated, hardworking people. We are lucky to have such a nice place to shoot!

I was there Mon. thru Fri. Our campsite was very soggy to say the least for the time we were there. I even had a piece of 3/4 in. plywood for a sidewalk. It was not there fault about the rain.

I did not notice any problems with the grounds. Heck man it had been raining for some time there.

The scores were posted in a very timely fashion along with winners and results for payouts. Far better than the CC has ever done and I have been to many of those shoots as well.

The food vendors did a fabulous job as well. The fish fry on Fri. night was very good.

The management did a great job as far as I am concerned. The targets were the best I have seen in a long time. I shot terrible but that was not there fault either. I just had a bad week. Had some surgery the week before and I probably should not have even attempted to shoot.

My son won his yardage group on Tues in a shoot off. That made the whole trip worth it for me.

We will be going back next year if it all works out.
