The Alabama Trap Ass., had a poll for changing their state shoot format-after looking at it--I thought it made a lot of sense

On Fri--have a class championship for singles, handicap yardage groups & THE DOUBLES CHAMPIONSHIP EVENT,

    Sat-Singles Championship

    Sun. Handicap Championship--

This way you can make a long ride home easier & you don't have to wait for the doubles shoot offs to end--before starting the handicap shoot offs

Yes the day will certainly be shorter with only one event, but you have to consider the time it takes to figure out the handicap shoot offs--there will probably be at least an hour wait for handicap shoot offs to start. Most associations would not want to lose throwing the other 100 targets to shooters.

They tried that in Arizona. It did not work out to well. If a shooter can not get off of work on friday, he is out of the 400 H.A.A. Many shooters voted against it at the next meeting. The idea sounds nice, but it is not shooter friendly.

Minnesota, Iowa, & South Dakota all have our Doubles Champ on Friday, Singles Champ on Saturday & Handicap Sunday.
