My American Select is metering light. I am getting 2 grains less than the mec chart. Wondering if anyone has been having the same results.

Did you switch to a new jug of powder? I just changed jugs of 700X and had to go up a bushing to maintain the grains I wanted. I just use chart as reference for what bushing to put in to start reloading, then weigh a few to check.

Does for me as well, had to go up to Mec 31 bushing to get 19 grains. I just bought a 1 lb jug last week to try it.

Install an Adjustable Charging Bar and Purchase a Digital Powder Scale, and dial in Shot & Powder charges, saves purchasing a lot of Bushings, for the MEC Loaders.

I have that stuff but when I think my equipment is showing a two grain difference than what the factory says I wonder about the equipment and my own sanity.

the bushing chart is a starting point, weigh your drops till you find the bushing that drops what you want

Powder, your loading by volume and checking by weight ,everything effects your drops. If you tap the powder down after filling,if the humidity is low youl get static makeing the powder cling,a differnt batch of powder, and lastly knowing bushing charts lie, always weigh your first five or six drops and adjust from there.

Things like this is why I use a adjustable charge bar.
