I remember the days the local great shooters could often be seen near their local clubs shooting for money and just practicing. I can think of a few great ones back then, wont mention their names, but they took pride in the local clubs.

Now if you want these points (what good are they) the great shooters are encouraged to abandon trapshooting in their area.

Who does this help? In my opinion the areas that have failed to market trapshooting.

The All American Points are so diluted now, they have pages of "All Americans" ... It wasn't that long ago it was a great honor now its just another day for most of them that make it the first time, they stay there forever ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

The ATA went on life support about 1996 and is headed south, what's depressing is NO ONE CARES, including me anymore. Brad

Saying "destroying" infers that it isn't "destroyed" ..... Those in "power" refuse to change direction, so "destroyed to the point of no return" would be a better fit .....

The "war on sandbagging" seems to have had greater "collateral damage" than "All American Points" ..... One hundred targets to move back, then one thousand targets to move forward ..... seems to have sold many thousands of targets to "ATA members" at small clubs .....

Even the occupy the 27 shooters had to hack their way back ..... Now a phone call or e-mail will get you to 25 if that is your desire ..... Many would spend years, and thousands of dollars at clubs and to the "ATA" to reach what is now FREE, and is not seen as the same accomplishment .....

Free yardage on ..... free yardage off ..... among other things to help people pick their yardage, seems to have helped cause no option money for those who thought the "sandbagger yardage dance" was worth something .....

So, All American Points does NOTHING for the small clubs ..... but, the so called "war on sandbagging" seems to have made a difference in "destroying" the "ATA" for the tens of thousands who quit .....

Inept managers will kill any business. The ATA has been on a down hill slide for the past 15 to 20 years. It picked up speed under Mr kaisers reign, and has not slowed down. We do have some hope in a couple of years Mr. Shaw will be at the reigns. Roger C.
