My cell Phone has been a Total Wireless since leaving Sprint, I just found out they merged w/Google, I always had problems when they said I needed updates, I ignored that for months, Then I gave in and took an update, well their Google updates must have a virus, after taking it to Walmart for the last time after a least 10 Previous visits, The phone was doing it's own thing, crossing info, taking my contacts off. I expect delivery of a new phone by Tuesday, I have not had a phone for 4 days now, Well Friday I spent 3:50 hrs on the phone trying everything they threw at me on the phone, stuck at 28% download for over an hour, they tried it 3 more times w same results, I bought their phone, it was mine, I had a hell of a time getting them to replace it, they took off ALL my contacts, and 250 Blocked numbers, I then got really Pisse*, demanded new phone, They tpld me to take the SIM CARD OUT & Battery, well the Battery is not removable, and returned it by the FEDEX Envelope they sent me, Total Wireless & Trac Phone are the same company. Based out of Indiana, as Shipping address on FEDEX Envelope, I am getting a SPARE PHONE from a different Company w/ different Phone number.

The only reason I have a TRAC PHONE is the cord on my dial phone wasn't long enough for me to travel around in my cart all day. I have it for EMERGENCIES only, or when I call Canada.

Over 4,000 accumulated minutes, BUT it does allow me to Call Canada without an extra charge.

Those newfangled things that are attached to everyone's hand and ear are a royal pain in the back side, especially when they "Forget" to turn them off when on a squad with you, and they start ringing...

I was a Verizon customer for over 32 years (before Verizon, they were Cell One ) , they raised the rates one time to many and I started searching ... Got 2 phones from T -Mobile Talking, Text, Data unlimited for $70.00 per month ... I think my wife's phone grew an attachment to her ear because it seems like she in on it 24/7 ... I have had no problems and the total bill is $70.00 per month , tax and services ... I do not see that it is any better or any worse than the Verizon services so after 32 years we start all over again ... WPT ... (YAC) ....

I had one of the First Bag Phones on Cell one, bought it at Sears for $1500, 3 watt power output, used it in my HVAC Business it was a Sylvania/ Hand held phone, I still have it and it works, like new, just needs a new battery, I do not think they use the same frequencies any more,

Back in 83' , since I was in business that required lots of contact, I purchased a Nokia Mobira, it weighed close to 25 lbs , had a battery life of 1 hr , unless plugged into the cigarette outlet, the antenna was magnetic that attached to the roof-cost for this gem was $2800.00 the real kicker $1.00/ minute both ways--used to love it when the wife called me when I was less than a mile from our house !!!

I use my magic jack for all calls to the USA free, you can put their app on your phone. A cheap call for almost an hour for 98 cents by dialing 10 10 710 then the number.

I feel your pain LS. But I have learned how to hoist these phone companies on their own petard to some extent.
The cell phone industry knows most people do not change carriers and so they try like hell to get everyone to switch to their plans. They all offer all kinds of discounts and benefits to start a new plan with giant discounts on the newest and best phones and always paying any changeover fees.
What I do when I need an upgrade is change servers from ATT-Sprint-TMobile-etc shopping for rates. Get the best phone I can with inducements. And do it in one of the brick and mortar sales offices. Works out well. (And of course, you get to keep your number. Its Federal law.)
    Good luck. Jake

The deal we got at T -Mobile was and is supposed to be a locked rate as long as you have auto pay ... We pay less now for two lines than we paid with Verizon for one and that was with a discount because my wife worked at the Corporate offices of a Major Bank ... I was a customer for over 32 years and Poof, I was gone ... I get "we want you back " crap all the time, I just delete it or hit the unsubscribe button ... I mail all of their advertisements back to them in the postage paid envelopes, usually put a few others that have been shredded in there also to add a little weight ... WPT ... (YAC) ...
