Rest in peace my friend. You will be greatly missed. If there is trap shooting in heaven, you will be on the "A" team.

I knew Gene Hapney many years here in Ohio, I met one of his Sons from California at Las Vegas Shoots and we shared a lot of old times out there in Las Vegas, his son was also a Great Trapshooter, Gene will be greatly missed may God be with Gene and his Family.

RIP Mr. Hapney. From what I have read of the man he was respected and his opinions were well received.

Hap reached out to the forum and met me under the pavilion at the Cardinal Center shortly after the forum started. He was a big help in the shadows. I spoke with him regularly. His support was immeasurable. He was given moderating status. In our last talk he told me he was going to dedicate his time to his wife.

I think Gene lived as if it was his duty to be a helping hand to others.

Gene was a truly good man. Honest. Honorable. Non-judgmental and insightful. He was always pleasant and loved trapshooting.
    RIP Gene.
