Went to my local Wally World this morning to pick up a couple of items. Before I left I browsed through the sporting goods department. They had boxes of "Federal Gold Medal Grand" shells on the shelf. They had em listed for $54.80 - I thought that is a good deal for a flat of "Gold Medals", I'll pick up a flat. They were not in flats but individual boxes but there was more than enough for one flat. It was 6:30 in morning and nobody around in sporting goods department but I did find a guy hanging around the area.

I asked him for a price check - He scanned a box and said $54.80. And I said yeah but that has to be a 10 box case price. He said - no that was for one box. The guy was 50-60 years old and I said look at your other shells - you can buy a 4 box carton for $21, no way in heck would anybody pay $54.80 for one lousy box. Anyway he said that is what they are $54.80 a box. Of course there was no manager around at that time.

Anyway you guys might want to check out your local Wally and see if they have those shells for a 10 box flat price. Never seen any "Gold Medal Grand" shells - these were white in color and had Grand written on them.

There was obviously a mistake, if some smart azz puts it in the computer that's what happens ... I was at the local Wal Mart one day and the manger of sporting goods told me they just marked down all of the shells that were considered to be old stock ... I bought everything they had out there for $2.50 a box, the very next day the shelves were restocked with new stuff at the regular prices ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

The $54.80 for a flat would be a great deal. I thought about going back this morning and trying to find the sporting goods department manager, and see if that price was for a flat, but then I remember I live by a code. And one of those codes is I NEVER go into a Wally store after 7AM. LOL It's just not worth it to me, with the crowds and eclectic group of customers in the store after that hour. I feel normal if I go in before 7am, wait till afterward and Id be the only person in there without tattoos, rings in their nose, lips, tongue, not wearing a "hoodie" even though it is 95 degrees outside and 90% humidity. Still I do most of my shopping there, just not after 7Am. I only go between 4am-7am. LOL

The only place like that around here is Costco, if you want to get in there before its so packed you can't move you have to be there before they open at 10 AM … The WalMart near my house is open 24/7 and its always busy, was the only place I could buy .22 Mags when no body else had them … WPT … (YAC) …

At the Walmart by me the Fed Gold Medals are $7.87 a box, knock off $2 for the rebate if you mail it in makes them $5.87 a box.

Garbage in means garbage out in the barcode IT world. If you disbelieve; check your receipts from bar coded other items vs the price on the shelf. Might not find many 48 dollar errors like the example here but you will find error(s).

I was back at the same Wally this morning at about 6AM. Went back to the sporting goods section to look - and yeah they are still marked $54.80 a box, doesn't look like they sold any.
