My youngest son fell in love with Federal paper shells loaded with a few bags of those old Federal 12 C-1 wads. I'm running out and wouldn't mind buying some at a fair price. Any available out there?
I think they stopped making the Federal 12C1. They make replacements however, if you're going to be reloading a lot of papers, just go with the Claybuster Windjammer replacement. Lower pressures (less felt recoil) awesome patterns, greater availability and lower cost. I've reloaded tens of thousands of federal papers with these wads and I think they're just as good or better than the original. Just my 2c for what it's worth. Good luck either way.
Actually I find 'em a bit long for use with bulky powders like Red or Green Dot. They also seem a bit harder on the cases too. I used to like the Federal 12S-4 wads and they are still available. In a pinch that's probably where I'm headed.
